July-SeptemberNewsletter

It's amazing to me that this year has gone by so quickly!  My July-September newsletter isn't getting done until the end of July...oh well, better late than never!

My teaching schedule is very busy but I still have some weekday openings for private groups that would like a workshop.  November thru January is my slow time of year and would be a great time to schedule if you are interested.  I have the same minimum of five students that I have for the stores.  If you are interested please let me know.

There has been great interest in my little framed miniatures.  Due to a very heavy teaching/traveling schedule it is becoming more difficult to get these done.  If you are interested in a piece please give me plenty of notice so that I may get it completed for you.  I will be taking a limited number of orders for Christmas...

MY TIME QUILTING RETREAT~MC CLOUD, CA

The April and July retreats in McCloud were loads of fun and I'm looking forward to September and October!  September has 2 openings left and October is completely full.

The 2011 retreats are filling up nicely...April is full with a wait list.  July, September and October all have openings.  The price of the retreat is $175 and you are responsible for your own lodging.  A $50 deposit is required when you sign up.   Set up for the retreat begins at 1 pm on Thursday...if you would like to arrive a day early and help with an easy set up, you can start quilting on Thursday instead of Friday!

Payments may be mailed to me at 1735 Oriole Court, Chico CA 95926 or via Paypal from my website.  Remember there are loads of things to keep your spouse busy during the day if he would like to join you.

It became necessary for me to become a bit more "firm" on my deposit/cancellation policy for the retreats.  I wanted to outline it again here so we were all on the same page:
"The fee for a full weekend retreat in McCloud is $175.00. A $50.00 deposit is required at the time of sign up. Payment in full is required no later than 60 days prior to your retreat. Ifyou need to cancel, I will refund your payment if the cancellation is received no later than 60 days prior to the retreat. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after the 60 day period if I am unable to fill your spot".

NEW STUFF!

I was introduced to a cool tool...the Clover Soft Touch Thread Pic.  Each class that I've demo'd this for has bought the store out.  I am starting/stopping my quilting lines differently now and this tool has proven invaluable.  Be sure to have me demo it in your next class!  Check with your local quilt store for availability or you can find it on-line from the Clover website.

Superior Threads is coming out with a new line of thread...their #100 silk.  I received the collection about a week ago and am testing it on my current quilt and it's amazing!!!  I'll be bringing some with me to each class so if you're interested in a sneak peek be sure to ask me for it.  It should be hitting the market very soon.

This is a short/quick newsletter but hopefully it contains some good info for you!  Looking forward to seeing you in class or in McCloud!
