       "My Time" Retreat~McCloud, CA
Are you aching to get away for a long weekend in the country to do nothing but quilt, shop, eat, be spoiled rotten and have an amazingly wonderful time?  Come join me for a perfect weekend at the newly renovated McCloud Mercantile Hotel in McCloud, California.  The minute I set foot inside this beautiful building I knew I had found the perfect spot to hold my retreats.  Please visit their website at www.mccloudmercantile.com.

The Great Room houses our retreat and is 3,000 square feet which gives us oodles of room to spread out.  The Mercantile has 10 exquisitely renovated hotel rooms, an old-fashioned soda shop, café, candy store, coffee shop and a small clothing and jewelry boutique.

Your retreat weekend is set up to provide time for YOU…bring any project that you want to work on such as piecing, marking, basting or hand/machine quilting.  Each person has their own 6’ table to themselves…no sharing! We will set up Thursday afternoon so if you want to help with set up, you may arrive any time after 1:00 pm and start sewing once set up is complete.  The retreat officially starts at 8 am Friday morning and will end at 3 pm on Sunday. You are free to come and go as you wish.  I will have my stash of stencils available to help you design and mark your quilt tops.

Our catered meals are provided by Scott and Aubrey from the McCloud River Lodge and they also run the café in the Mercantile. Breakfast is included in your room fee if you are staying at the Mercantile and is served in the cafe downstairs.  Other retreaters staying at local B&B's enjoy their breakfast there.  A lunch buffet is served Friday thru Sunday and leftovers can be saved for your dinner in the evening.   You are encouraged to grab new/old friends and go out on the town or stay in for leftovers for dinner.   My daughter, Emily, provides her exquisite desserts each evening.

My good friend and amazing masseuse, Franci Lamb, will be providing private massages Friday thru Sunday for an additional charge.  She comes highly recommended and is part of the “spoiled rotten” part of the retreat!

As I teach and travel around the country I am busy shopping and finding lots of goodies and prizes for you.  Special drawings for gifts will be held throughout the weekend.

Chris Botts will be providing sewing machine servicing on Friday and Saturdayfor anyone who wishes to have machines serviced. He also brings Superior Threads, needles, notions and goodies for sale.

If you would like to invite your spouse to accompany you, please do!  There are enough  great fishing spots, boating, golfing, hiking, sight seeing to keep him busy all day long while you are retreating and quilting.  Please check out the McCloud or Mt. Shasta chamber of commerce websites for more information at www.mccloudchamber.com and www.mtshastachamber.com.

Your hotel room is NOT included in the retreat price.  The McCloud Mercantile has 10 exquisitely renovated rooms…there are only 10 so if you wish to stay there book them soon.  The full price of the room is shown on their website…your cost will be 10% less so be sure to  tell them you are with my retreat.  They have the rooms “blocked” up until 60 days prior to the retreat and then they will be released.  Please check out these websites for other recommended facilities for your overnight stay:  The River Inn is located directly behind the Mercantile and many retreaters stay there too...It comes highly recommended due to their beautiful rooms, friendly service and a great breakfast in the morning! Other retreaters have brought their RV (and husbands) and park close by at the Dance Country RV Park which is located directly across Hwy 89 and is within easy walking distance of the Mercantile.
