Since moving into our new home a couple months ago I've been looking for something rustic and charming to put my threads on. A trip to the antique store unveiled 3 sets of wooden shutters for a good price...Wooohooo!
My husband, Kent, mounted these on two boards at the top and bottom and attached the entire unit to the wall.
You can get thread stands from Joan's which I've had forever but I disassembled them and kept the horizontal thread holders only. Kent nailed these to the shutters for me...
...and I proceeded to load them up with thread! LOVE how this turned out!
I love those old printer boxes and have these on the adjoining wall holding my smaller silks and bobbins.
